Community outreach has been central to Taller’s mission since its founding. Under the umbrella of Visítenos, we offer a range of arts-based programming for children, youth, adults, and seniors that foster an appreciation for art, cultural diversity and promote mutual understanding and respect. Our programs take place in our El Corazón Cultural Center, at community centers, and at schools across the greater Philadelphia region. We also work in collaboration with partnering organizations such as the Philadelphia Museum of Art and others.
Taller’s Visítenos at El Corazón extends tours and hands-on workshops focused on Puerto Rican and Latino culture for school, university, and community groups at our El Corazón Cultural Center. For more information about our tours and workshops, click here.
Primarily supported by a grant from the William Penn Foundation, Visítenos Community brings arts education to Philadelphia area schools through its in-school artist residency. Students learn fundamental art skills, basic visual literacy, and understanding as well as an appreciation of Latino arts and culture. Find out more here.
Thanks to a grant from Aroha Philanthropies, our Artful Aging Program provides visual and performing arts classes at area senior centers. In this program, seniors learn new skills, explore their creativity, and showcase their talents. Find out more here.
